Included is support for Onkyo’s RI system and listening areas, the application is now compatible with the existing Onkyo RI (Remote Interactive) system, so owners of network-capable Onkyo home cinema and hi-fi system, your iPod touch or an iPhone as an all-use in-one remote control for multiple components.
In addition, with the Onkyo Remote 2 individual zones of a multi-zone configuration individually drive for playback. Now available as a free download, it offers the app as a convenient remote control for owners of Onkyo home cinema and hi-fi systems, not least because of the easy access to frequently used functions:
- Play, Stop, Skip, Pause, Volume-/Bass- and treble control, playback mode, Selection of input and network sources, and radio stations.
As a special feature allows users to access their digital music libraries, music streaming and Internet radio stations – and play in proven Onkyo sound quality. The Onkyo Remote 2 application is compatible with all network-capable Onkyo home theater receivers, the Model 2010 and 2011 generations, and the T-4070 network tuner and the TX-8050 stereo receiver (if the firmware has been updated).
In our test runs with the Onkyo TX-NR1009 was the app due to easy handling, very good score reliability and fast response. Especially in combination with the Apple iPhone 4S, the response time is impressive, the app loads very quickly.

Overall, the new app is due to faster response, more options and easy, yet powerful graphical overhaul a successful solution, nice that you now control the entire Onkyo home cinema chain with the iPhone or iPod Touch can.
